EVOLIFE SOFTENER

The EVOLIFE Culligan softener is a specific equipment to remove hardness (calcium and magnesium) by means of exchanging resins that are selected and are suitable for contact with food-grade water of the Cullex strong cation type in sodium cycle, which can normally be regenerated with sea salt. The softener is also fitted with an innovative and unique “Aqua Safe” automatic disinfection system that ensures the microbiological quality of treated water. The system comprises three main elements: ➢ control valve ➢ resin container ➢ salt container The control valve controls the operating steps of the equipment by means of an electronic programmer: service and regeneration. During the service step, water enters the softener and goes through the ion exchange resin bed. The resin holds back the salts causing hardness in water, exchanging them with non-scaling salts, therefore distributing water free of limescale to the entire house. The capacity of resin to hold back limescale is not infinite, therefore a periodical regeneration is necessary to restore this capacity. The product required for regeneration is sodium chloride. WARNING: only use Culligan salt tablets. The regeneration (backflushing) takes place automatically, controlled by the programmer according to time or volume, depending on the models. During this step a saturated solution of brine slowly passes through the resin bed, recharging them and eliminating the hardness salts that were previously held back. After regeneration, the equipment automatically returns to the service position. The EVOLIFE Culligan softeners have the following functions: • METER, delayed volumetric control. • AQUA SAFE, unique and innovative automatic disinfection of resin at each regeneration (in compliance with M.D. 25/2012) The control valve is fitted with a bypass system that allows bypassing the softening system on the water mains. The bypass allows using hard water when required, without wasting the availability of softened water and saving on salt consumption.
