Drinking Water

MEDALLIST

FILTER MEDALLIST

As a rule, mains water is potable, i.e. suitable for normal food use. However, its potability is nearly always ensured by the addition of disinfectants, which sometimes give the water unpleasant odors and tastes. Tap water can contain other undesirable elements due to occasional seepage: iron, manganese, chlorinated solvents. Medallist filters eliminate all impurities from the water and, depending on the choice of models, supply perfectly clear water, free of iron and manganese, neutralize the aggressiveness of acidic water, remove unpleasant odors and tastes, and retain pesticides, synthetic detergents and chlorinated solvents. The control valve has a bypass valve for excluding the filter from the water mains, facilitating system maintenance operations. Medallist filters have the exclusive “Quadr-Hull” protection. The tank consists of: - a food-grade polyethylene liner; - a body in glass fibre reinforced epoxy resin; - graphite reinforcement, which ensures greater resistance to pressure; - an external coating resistant to moisture and the action of ultraviolet rays. OPERATION Medallist filters are fully automatic. A single hydraulic valve controlled by an electronic programmer, regulates the service, backwash and rinse phases. The rinse can be started automatically or manually, without interfering with the set automatic mechanism. The wide range of available filtering minerals makes it possible to choose the most suitable filter for each application. ▪ FILTR-CLEER Version (UF) For turbid water, containing traces of Iron and Manganese. The filtering mineral consists in a layer of anthracite and a layer of silica sand. ▪ CULLAR Version (UR) For removal of undesirable tastes, odours and colours. It favours the removal of organic substances and micro-pollutants and the adsorption of residual Chlorine. The filtering minerals consists in a granular form of activated carbon with high degree of porosity. ▪ CULLNEU Version (UU) For neutralization of acidity in water, in order to prevent piping and metal parts from corrosion. For remineralization of drinking water obtained by distillation of sea water. The filtering mineral consists in a mixture of granular form of Calcium Carbonate and Magnesium Oxide, which dissolves in proportion to the acidity in water. It therefore necessitates the periodic addition of the mineral, easily effected in a matter of minutes. ▪ CULLSORB Version (UFP) Mineral for selective removal of Iron and Manganese, which can be reactivated with oxydant chemicals.
