UV Sterilizers

ULTRAVIOLET

The CULLIGAN UV systems

The CULLIGAN UV systems make their bactericidal function employing ultraviolet light lamps of UV-C type. These lamps, vapours of mercury at low pressure, protected by a quartz sleeve, are contained in a stainless steel housing. The water, passing through the chamber between the quartz and the housing, it comes hit by UV rays, obtaining its sterilization. The bactericidal energy produced hitting bacteria, viruses, lactic ferments, seaweed etc. present on the water, penetrating the external membrane of the cell, destroy the DNA, fundamental nucleus for the construction of all the living organisms. The CULLIGAN UV sterilizers eliminate the 99% micro-organisms, if you respect the UV rays dosage parameters and the water energy absorption coefficient. UV RAYS DOSAGE Of course, to assure the effectiveness of the UV effect, the right dosage is 13.000 UV energy units, expressed in microWsecond/cm2, at 254 nm wavelength. These systems ensure the dosage capacity of 33.000 microWsecond/cm2 at flow rates: 20S : 67 l/min (4000l/H) OPERATIVE LIMITS FOR INLET WATER Turbidity : 1 NTU max Suspended solids : 2 mg/l max Mn : 0,05 mg/l max Fe : 0,3 mg/l max Sulphurate Hydrogen : 0,05 mg/l max Color : none PH : 6,5-9,5
