High-Purity Water by Ion Exchange

All water supplies contain dissolved minerals which exist in water as electrically charged ions. These dissolved minerals are composed of both a metallic part (a positively charged Cation) and a non-metallic part (a negatively charged Anion). The hardness elements - Calcium and Magnesium, are just a portion of the dissolved solids, others ions such as Sodium, Potassium, Chlorides, Nitrates, Sulfates etc., are also present in water and we call all these invisible dissolved minerals as Total Dissolved Solids (T.D.S.). The present of T.D.S. can interfere with manufacturing processes since most industries that use water for critical processes need high quality deionized water. In order to maintain high efficient and good production power, T.D.S. removal is absolutely required

An efficient and effective way to remove T.D.S. and produce high purity water is to utilize DINEC TWIN BED Deionizer which are designed for deionized water requirement of 200-17000 I/hr.

T.D.S. are removed from water through an ion exchange process. All ions both negative and positive can be removed during this process. When the resin beads became exhausted, a regeneration process must be carried out by introducing hydrochloric acid to Cation and sodium hydroxide to Anion separately to restore its ion exchange capacity.
